…but they don’t have to be barley or Wheat! Corn, oats, and other grains have been used for millenia, including sorghum!
we’re sourcing local sorghum syrup to craft one of our regular line-up beers - Neu Zeit. While the translation is pretty easy, “New Time,” it’s extremely important for us at Teuerberg that beer be accessible to everyone! That’s less easy, but definitely worth the time and effort!
Neu Zeit will have a similar base as Alt Zeit, with the exception of only gluten-free ingredients. Fortunately, hops, yeast, and water don’t have any gluten, so we’re ¾ of the way there right out of the gate!
While each batch may vary, we’re shooting for 4.5% abv, with about 35-40 IBUs.
